Proposal on Elfreth’s Alley in Philadelphia
Elfreth’s Alley is one of those places in Philadelphia that feels like stepping back in time — the cobblestone street, brick row homes, and flickering lanterns make it one of the most romantic spots in the city. So when I got an inquiry to photograph a proposal there on Halloween night, I knew it was going to be special.
It was a crisp Fall evening in Philly. The couple had just finished dinner nearby and decided to take a walk down Elfreth’s Alley — something they’d done before, but this time had a twist. It was his birthday, which made it the perfect cover. She had no idea what was coming when he suddenly got down on one knee on the cobblestones and asked her to marry him.
After she said yes (and after a few happy tears), we wandered a little farther down the street to a quiet, hidden spot — the same place where they’d shared their first kiss. It was such a full-circle moment, and capturing that was so special.
As a proposal and wedding photographer based in Philadelphia, I love moments like these. If you are looking for someone to capture your special moments, I would love to connect.
